The R&R Hall of Fame is a Jann Wenner Wankfest, and good for PG for not wasting his time.
Have you ever looked at who's in it? Most wouldn't know a good rock and roll song if it bit them in the ass.
That being said would still like to go to the museum in Cleveland one day.

Dirty dirt. I was getting off on Gabriel with Genesis while the fucking Robinson brothers were still sucking milk from their mamma's teat.
The Knife. Foxtrot. Nursery Cryme. Selling England by the Pound and of COURSE the Lamb.
When Peter departed I owned 1st 5 solo albmuns. Saw him 3 times live. My fanhood started to die when he was digging in the dirt.
The Black Crowes live will never come close to touching a Peter Gabriel live performance back in his prime. Nor will the Black Crowes come close to the Genesis experience live when they were in the prime. Crowes would just be out of their league. Gabriel and Genesis are out of their prime as is Chris Robinson. Why the fuck are the black crowes country and folk music now? Chris is past his prime. His voice is no longer a rock and roll voice and I accept that. BUT if the Black Crowes were to be inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame then they would truly know there is a God after all. Genesis with Peter Gabriel was going down while Americans were dying in Vietnam and they were a whole different approach to music while the Bee Gees were inventing disco and Crosby Stills Nash and Young were protesting.
Granted the Hall has fucked up with the disco inductees but Peter Gabriel is the one who is royally fucking up by not showing up for the induction. "I Know what I like and I like what I know."

Of course Gabriel is an asshole, the sky is blue and water makes you wet. But not turning up to the self-congratulatory back-slapping shite that is the rock n roll hall of fame is the only decent thing that wanker has ever done.
When I left university and was unemployed, they forced me on a scheme. Phil Collins came to talk to us about song-writng amongst other things, I stayed in the pub and ddn't meet him. I was 22 and now that I'm in my mid-forties I look back and think at least once in my life I did the right thing. Genesis=bollocks.

I will be in Montreal July 9th for the Steve Hackett show.
If you did not know, Hackett quit Geneisis after Peter Gabriel. He recorded 2 LPs in the Post Gabriel era.

I also was gonna say that the MUSIC ITSELF (if it's really good) will live forever. I've never cared about the Hall of Fame, and I'm not the only one. Music is a wonderful thing on it's own - all the rewards, inductions etc. are irrelevant.
