Video is 36 minutes long but Crowesbase indicates 60 minutes?

It's not the player, it's the video that has bad synch problems unfortunatly.

Well, it adds to the bad trippy vibe, doesn't it? Classic shot of MFF at the end, stoned faces don't lie...

PEACE

.
My theory is this 'edited for release' version is 36 minutes long because it was going to air as an MTV special and the amorica promo video, which is about eight minutes long, was also going to be included.

Many thanks Corvonero.

I dug the sound of the music in this. Certainly a more Tall/Druggy vibe as would be expected under the circumstances.

This looks like raw footage to me. I wonder if the band and/or MTV ever actually got around to putting together an edited, ready to air hour show? I always thought that would be something cool to throw in to a comprehensive box set if they ever got around to it.

Definitely an interesting evening.

Is it just me or are they keys mostly inaudible? Or maybe I have to really crank up the vol?

Any chance someone can repost Late Nights Again and Cut From the Shadow. Really want to hear these songs and I missed hearing them when they were posted a few weeks ago. Thanks!

Really hope the song Natural Born Turn it On turns up at some point.

This thread is amazing!! Thanks! Grabbed everything which is still active (i.e. all the dropbox and google drive files). Not sure there was anything in the sendspace links which hasn't been reposted in still active links?

But even so... grabbed a whole bunch of amazing shit! Thanks all!!

PS the "edited" file is the 2 Meter Sessies session from back in 96 or 97 or something like that right?

Yes I think the 2 Meter is from 96 or so

Love that session! I used to love watching that program full stop... I picked up some great artists from watching that show weekly.

Also... did I read that Chris and Rich recorded some BOAF stuff in a studio? Was that shit in any of the links, or have those recordings not surfaced? I'd love to hear that!

If you're referring to the BOAF link in this thread, I can tell you that both songs (Cut from the Shadow & Late Nights Again) are live recordings.

So what I managed to grab from this thread is:
- 2 Meter Sessies
- 1992-09-19 soundcheck
- Dying From The Cure
- More Lost Crowes
- Uncovered Crowes

And a bunch of individual songs:
- Appalachians
- Baby
- Feathers
- Miserable
- Thorn 1991
- Tomorrow Is Here

Is the Dying From The Cure one a studio session from 2005/2006?

More Lost Crowes seems to be a Tall era compilation?

Uncovered Crowes:
- seems to be a mix of stuff from various things, bunch of B-sides and what not?
- Time Will Tell seems to be the same as on SHAMC?
- Boomer Story, Oh Sister and Hot Burrito are live versions?
- Stand Back? No idea what this is or where it's from...

Is that all correct?

You should check the thread, because some of the files have already been discussed extensively, especially Dying From the Cure. General impression is that apart from It Takes One To Know One the songs sound a lot like CR solo (+ hired hands?) recordings.

Uncovered Crowes consists solely of studio versions. According to Crowesbase, Stand Back (Allman Brothers song) was recorded Nov/Dec 1993 and Oh Sister was laid down at the Band sessions. Couldn't find anything on Crowesbase about studio recordings of Boomer and Hot Burrito, but if you give them a good listen you will agree that both are studio takes.

More Lost Crowes is Tall for a large part with superior sound quality, and with Wind And Wood Heart as the only extra '93 track compared to what had been floating around for many years. The other tracks are the real surprises: Entrance, Everybody Has Scars and Name Like Music (Jan '96, I believe); Nothing Love Everything, Spider and Unlikely To Believe (Nov '96).

Since also a couple of BYS outtakes have surfaced in the meantime I'm really hoping that other tracks will appear any time soon. Just check Crowesbase to see how much unreleased stuff there must be...

PEACE

For what it's worth, regarding the approximate date of It Takes One To Know One, despite it being a song that they started playing with Marc in 2006 I don't think the studio take actually has Marc on it. Lead guitar on that take all sounds like Rich to me and rhythm actually sounds like it may be Chris. Sounds like single coils (Chris used to play a Strat at that time if I remember correctly) and the part is close to what he played live.

Fiddle and mandolin on Boomer's Story leads me to believe it's from the Band sessions. No idea about Hot Burrito #2, but they did that a lot live in '95-96, so maybe Three Snakes?

Time to revive this thread (my favourite TBC thread in the last few years).
Boa has a new blog at crowesbase.net and he's been posting some gems in the last month.

Here are all of the direct links to get the stuff while it's hot:

2005-12-31 full show soundboard

Hotel Illness 2010-08-05 studio acoustic rehearsal

1997-01-13 full show soundboard

Cathy's Clown 2005-10-21 soundcheck
